What is your definition of success?
Success is living and achieving desired outcomes that makes you a complete and happy person. I like to set goals for myself personally and professionally and I aspire to make those around me successful as well.  Success is also working with others to develop a team in both spirit and process. As a team leader, I measure success by my ability to develop shared goals and then reach them in a can-do environment that makes the effort fun and rewarding for all.
Describe your typical workday
I wake up thankful every day  and feel blessed to receive a new day of discovery and opportunity.  My workday typically begins long before I arrive at the office as I review and make note of personal and professional priorities. I am a person of activity and interactions. I begin by communicating with my staff to get a feel for all the projects in progress and to set the course for the day . The rest of the day is generally a combination of meetings, interaction with agencies and planning. I also like to take timeout to interact with team members and subordinates, building a sense of collegiality, support, and trust.
Are you a team player or individual contributor?
I am very conscious of the fact that the skills and experience I bring as an individual play an important part of meeting our objectives.  I always look for new information and seek to develop my skills to add more value to the company.  I feel I am a better leader for having the ability and the willingness to do any job myself. Nonetheless, I have a talent for for developing team processes and goals. I am a big team player who likes to maximize individual efforts with good processes and the support of a cooperative group environment.
Who are your personal or business heroes or mentors?
Colin Powell, Bill Gates, Dr. Johnnetta Cole
What are your three (3) greatest work accomplishments?
1.) Being a part of a team that overcame a previous negative reputation for productivity by clarifying our common goal, creating strategies, and achieving previously unknown success.
2.) Orchestrating the strategy to raise one quarter of million dollars toward a building campaign from a volunteer organization.
3.) Mentoring others in establishing career paths, setting career goals and helping them attain those goals.
Describe your management style
I am a hands-on manager that takes an interest in all that is going on at every level. I avoid micro-management by having a high degree of trust in those who report to me. I am a clear and concise communicator, and I work to earn the respect of those I work with rather than demand it. I am a huge believer in process and its ability to create work environments where dynamic things can happen within a framework of organization and established expectations.
What kind of boss, manager, or customer do you do your best work for?
I work best for managers who are able to see the big picture and quickly assess the need for action. I appreciate a boss who is well-balanced in both intellect and people skills and holds the professional integrity of others in high regard.
Who brings out the worst in you? Give examples
I try to find good in everyone with whom I have dealings. However I have little tolerance for those who are perpetually ineffective, those who lack initiative or are reluctant to make decisions.
What are your (3) biggest strengths? Give examples
1.) Organization - I have the ability to create order in any kind of environment and do so calmly and with ease.
2.) Leadership - I draw upon my experiences and my skills as an excellent listener to understand the complexities of any problem and initiate decisive direction for those on my team. I have often had others tell me that this calm, tactful and disciplined approach makes me the kind of leader they have always looked for.
3.)
Inspiring others to succeed.- I can express my thoughts and ideas clearly and with passion and my life experience/success is evidence that backs up my story.
How are you different from your competitors, or from others with your same background and experience?
A friend once told me I was 'one of the most courageous persons she knows.'  I believe my courage is the result of a well balanced education, a wide variety of experiences and learning from a very early age, faith and willingness to take risks.  I have the ability to see the big picture and internalize it, visualize success, organize it and dare to take the steps necessary to make it all happen.  This trait and philosophy have truly set me apart from counterparts with similar backgrounds. I am very open minded about change, and I have an ability to use my wide variety of experiences to facilitate any action.
