Magazine Editor
This position will provide editorial and production direction
and supervise student interns working for —Inspire! Magazine. Must be highly
competent in journalistic-style writing, grammar and English composition. Must
have demonstrated written communication skills. Must be familiar with use of
personal computers and laser printer. Experience with MS Word, PageMaker,
InDesign and Photoshop preferred. Must show good interpersonal skills and
demonstrate an ability to work with public and production team. Preference given
to those with previous experience on another newspaper or magazine. |

Advertising Manager
The Advertising Manager will act as the sales manager for advertising in the
magazine. This person will solicit new advertising accounts, create camera-ready
ads and provide invoices to Accounting Department for appropriate billing. Must
be able to track accounts and produce reports showing invoice and final ad copy
for audit purposes. Must be able to coordinate advertising accounts for the
magazine. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills including the
ability to "cold-call" new accounts. Must have ability to interact positively
with editor and production manager and work within production schedule. Must
have ability to complete invoices and track advertising accounts. Must have
knowledge or willingness to learn PageMaker, InDesign, and Photoshop software
for camera-ready ad design and use MS Excel to track budget |

Circulation Manager
The Circulation Manager directs and coordinates circulation marketing efforts
and all record keeping concerning circulation, including the fulfillment of
subscriptions, to ensure maximum profitability. This position is directly
responsible for budgeting and analysis of single-copy and subscription programs,
list rental, and database planning and maintenance. Must have strong
organization, planning and written communication skills and the ability to work
effectively under pressure in order to meet established deadlines. Ability to
interact positively with other staff in distributing magazine. Working knowledge
of marketing and able to develop creative approaches to gain new subscribers and
retain existing subscribers. Ability to use spreadsheets, databases, report
generating programs and Word processing software on a personal computer. |
