- You in the New Year
- The beginning of a New Year
can mean a lot of different things to different people.
- We have all been through many things throughout the past year, some
good and some not so good. We have had changes in employment, new
additions to our family, lost a loved one, some have married and others
have divorced, we have achieved some goals, had and still have some
physical and emotional challenges, etc. All of these and more can change
our lives in a major way. And in the midst of all the change, we can
- sometimes forget to take time out for ourselves. Change is a key
word here and some of us need to make some changes in the way we do
things, the way we live, the way we think.
- YOU are very important to the people in your life and if you don’t
take care of YOU, it can cause other challenges in your life such as
physical ailments, emotional upset, stress, anxiety, and depression
among other things. So, let’s look at some ways to take care of YOU, in
this New Year!
-
- Because we live in a fast paced society, we tend to overlook some
things that are very crucial to our well being. It’s time we take some
time out to smell the roses, taste the coffee, enjoy life to the full!
Here are 3 things that will assist YOU:
- 1Get plenty of rest. Now
that may sound impossible in your busy, fast paced life, but you need to
get the rest that your body needs to be able to function at full
capacity. Not only physical rest, but mental rest as well. Take a load
off your brain and focus your thoughts on something that will bring you
peace. Take a 5-10 minute time out just to refresh your mind. And then
be sure to get at least 6 hours of sleep nightly.
- 2Get
plenty of exercise and drink water. I know you have heard this before,
but I cannot stress the importance of those two. Exercise is important
to keep the blood circulating, keep your energy level up and overall
wellness. Water aids in nearly every body function, but in particular,
it keeps our digestive system in tact by removing toxins from the body.
- 3Show
love to everyone. Love is something that we all need, want and have the
ability to give. By showing love to others, it can open up a whole new
way of life for all, the givers and receivers. Kind words, nice
gestures, a simple smile can brighten up someone’s day and also make you
feel good about who you are. Be positive, enjoy life! Take care of
yourself as you take care of others. Let this New
- Year be the start of a New YOU!
