Writers Wanted

 

Query letters for specific features and departments should be one page in length and accompanied by recent writing samples. The letter should explain the idea for the piece, tell how you would approach it as a writer, give some sense of your writing style, and mention the section of the magazine for which the piece is intended. Your samples should not include the actual story that you are proposing.

Features and departments cover the following categories:

  • Profiles: or first-person accounts of people who have made a dramatic change in their lives
  • Finance: investments, legal matters, and work issues
  • Health/Fitness: tips, trends, studies
  • Food: recipes, emphasis on healthy eating
  • Travel: domestic and international
  • Consumer: practical information and advice
  • General interest: new thinking, research, information on timely topics, trends
  • City Dining: restaurant reviews

Inspire! Magazine discourages the submission of unsolicited manuscripts and assumes no responsibility for their return. Also, we do not print articles that have been previously published.

We are looking for creative writers to help contribute to Inspire! In exchange for your articles, we offer exposure to you as an author, your products or your services. We invite everyone, both novice and experts to help contribute to our publication. We ask that all writers keep the following items in mind when submitting an article...

  • Keep focused on issues relating to home and our community  
  • Must not contain illegal activities or deceptive information
  • May endorse only products or services that specifically relate to article
  • English language articles only please
  • Cannot include copyrighted material from other sources
  • Articles should be about 300 words or less
  • Provide a title for your article of up to 30 characters
  • If desired, an "About the Author" paragraph can also be provided

Note that we reserve the right to make minor modifications to submitted articles. This includes but is not limited to changing the article title and minor grammatical, spelling and wording changes to increase clarity or to fit it within a specified space. The author of a submitted article understands that there is no monetary compensation of any form offered for the submission of an article. We reserve the right to use submitted articles for as long or as short duration as we see fit.

Editorial Submission
Submitting an article is as simple as sending us your article by email in plain text, HTML or Microsoft Word format.
